Debra Holmes is a licensed clinical social worker and registered play therapist. For the last 20 years she has connected with children, teens and families in a playful but straightforward manner. Her honest and genuine approach to treatment continually fosters an environment of positive communication and growth.


Prior to establishing her private practice in 2004, Debra worked for Rady Children's Hospital, Chadwick Center's Trauma Counseling Program and New Alternative's Inc. Debra earned her Master's Degree in Social Work through San Diego State University in 1993 and became licensed in California in March 2001. Additionally, Debra earned a certificate in play therapy through UCSD Extended Studies in 2002 after completing 150 hours of coursework. Debra has also completed over 70 hours of training with Daniel Hughes, PhD, who developed the model of dyadic developmental psychotherapy and authored the books Building the Bonds of Attachment and Facilitating Developmental Attachment
